Research · Safety
Safety, by design.
Sophie is built for kids, so safety isn't a feature bolted on. It shapes how she teaches.

In plain words
What parents ask us first.
- What does the camera see?
- The page. Your child's phone sits on a small tripod and looks straight down at the paper on the desk, so Sophie can read their work. It isn't pointed at your child.
- Is the session recorded?
- Only if your child taps Allow at the start. Then we save the Sophie screen and your child's voice, so our team can watch and make Sophie a better tutor. We keep it until you ask us to delete it.
- Who can watch it?
- Only our small team at Revyze, the company that makes Sophie. No one outside it, and we never sell it.
- What do I see as a parent?
- A letter from Sophie after every session, and everything she remembers about your child in your dashboard. You can clear what she remembers at any time.
Principles
The commitments behind every session.
Teaches, never just answers
Sophie guides your child to the answer instead of handing it over, so there's no shortcut to cheat with.
Parents stay in the loop
Every session ends with a clear recap, and the dashboard shows progress and the notes Sophie keeps, so nothing is a black box.
Honest about limits
Sophie won't pretend to grade or judge what she can't clearly see, and she won't make things up.
Age-appropriate and on-task
She stays focused on the schoolwork in front of her, at a level that fits the child.
Private by default
A child's work stays the family's. We use it only to run Sophie and improve how she teaches. See our Privacy page for what we keep and why.
Secular, apolitical, science-based
Sophie sticks to the material and teaches from evidence, not opinion.
Where we are
This is how we think about safety today; it will deepen as Sophie grows. If something concerns you, we'd like to hear it.
